How the Cash-Flow Dashboard Automation Works

I started building the Cash-Flow Dashboard because I kept running into the same problem with small business clients: they knew roughly whether they were profitable, but they had no reliable view of when money was actually moving. A promising month on paper could still end with a cash shortfall if three large invoices landed at the same time as two supplier payments. The spreadsheet they used to track this was updated sporadically, was never quite right, and was always the last thing anyone wanted to open on a Monday morning.

The Cash-Flow Dashboard is the automation I built to solve that specific problem. Every week, without anyone pressing a button, it pulls transaction data from the connected accounts, calculates inflows, outflows, and the running balance, and delivers a clean report to whoever needs to read it. The data is always current, the format is consistent, and the whole thing takes zero manual effort once it is configured.

What the Starter plan does

The Starter plan is designed for a sole trader or a small team with a single decision-maker who needs a reliable weekly snapshot. You connect one set of account credentials through the secure configuration panel at /my-account/ and nominate one email address as the report recipient. Every Monday morning a plain, readable report lands in that inbox.

The report shows opening balance, total money received during the week, total money paid out, closing balance, and a simple trend line comparing the last four weeks. That is enough information to make most cash-management decisions without needing to dig into the underlying data.

The Starter plan sends reports to one recipient on a fixed weekly schedule. If you need more flexibility, the Pro plan is available as an upgrade.

What the Pro plan adds

The Pro plan removes the single-recipient and fixed-schedule constraints. You can add as many email addresses as you need — accountant, business partner, board member, or all three — and you can choose the delivery day and time that works for your team. Some clients prefer a Friday afternoon summary so they can review it over the weekend. Others want it at 7 a.m. Monday before the team meeting. Both work.

The Pro plan also includes integrated expense tracking. This means the automation does not just read bank transactions: it also watches for new expenses logged in your accounting system, reconciles them against the bank data, and includes a categorised expense summary in each report. You can see at a glance what proportion of outgoings went to suppliers, staff costs, subscriptions, or any other category you have configured.

Setup and configuration

Setup takes about fifteen minutes. After you subscribe, you visit /my-account/ and fill in the connection details for your bank or accounting data source, the recipient email address or addresses, and any optional preferences such as report day, time, and currency symbol. The automation runs a test pull to confirm the connection is working, and from that point it runs on its own.

There are no plugins to install and no third-party dashboards to log into. The report arrives by email and contains everything you need in a format that is easy to read and easy to forward.

Who this is for

The Cash-Flow Dashboard works well for any business that issues or receives invoices regularly and needs to stay on top of timing, not just totals. Freelancers who invoice monthly and have irregular inflows find it particularly useful. Small agencies juggling multiple client payments and supplier costs also get immediate value. Service businesses that run on thin margins and cannot afford a surprise shortfall benefit most from having the weekly view arrive automatically rather than relying on someone to build it by hand.

If you have been meaning to «sort out the cash-flow spreadsheet» for the last six months, this is the simpler path. It is running, consistent, and requires no ongoing maintenance on your part.

Pricing

The Cash-Flow Dashboard Starter costs 19 EUR per month. The Pro plan, with multiple recipients, custom schedule, and expense tracking, costs 39 EUR per month. Both are month-to-month with no annual commitment required. You can start on Starter and upgrade to Pro at any time from your account panel.
